Crime
in France: France and Monaco have low rates
of violent crimes, although the general rate of
criminality has been rising in the last years. The
most usual ones are robberies to tourists in museums,
monuments, restaurants, hotels, beaches, train stations,
airports and underground.
Some advice: Those travellers who wish to
have a stay without troubles, should follow few
basic rules:
* the best way to deal with money is through traveller
checks, and to be changing them when money is needed;
* if possible, leave the value articles (jewelry,
traveller checks, credit cards, airline ticket,
etc) in the safe-deposit box of the hotel or place
where you are lodging. It is also possible to find
companies that offer a service of safe-deposit boxes
in the Yellow Pages.
* Do not leave luggage in a car without watching.
* Subscribe a travel insurance in order to cover
the expenses of any eventual loss or robbery.
