Description
Nice, with half a million inhabitants, is the fifth city
of France. Considered capital of the Côtes-d'Azur,
it is a city of art and culture. The Opera and its museums
shows it. It is half an hour by car from Italy and Monaco.
It enjoys an exceptional situation between the sea and
the mountain. The University of Nice - Sophia Antipolis
offers a range of different programs of French as a second
language. They take place in the Literature School, Arts
and Human Sciences, in the Carlone Campus, near downtown
and of all the services (university residences and restaurants,
sport facilities, beaches, etc.).
Lodging
Students can lodge in single rooms in the university residence
or the city (hotels, pensions, families houses, apartments
in residences, etc.).
Academics
Classes for all the levels are given. The student can
choose special courses such as pedagogical short courses
for French teachers. Groups are small and have 20 hours
per week. In the beginners level they are traditional
lab classes and in the intermediate levels, half of the
time is dedicated to language courses and the rest to
specific workshops (written, oral, French specialised,
civilisation, Literature and preparation to superior studies).
The courses are oriented towards the acquisition or the
improvement of the spoken and written language, the grammar
and vocabulary.
Activities
Free time can be dedicated to attend conferences on social
and cultural life, to visit the main curiosities of Nice
and their important cultural places, to make trips to
the inland and to practice sports and other activities
of leisure (beach, swimming pool, tennis etc.).
