Health in France: the French system of health is really very effective, the consultation with a general doctor is reimbursed totally by the social security and also most of medicines. You should ask for the “tiers payant” in drugstores, this allows to receive prescribed medicines free. However, the consultations with specialists are only partially reimbursed. For a cover of the 100%, the "muttuelles" (a kind of insurance) for students, proposes varied good prices ways of consultations with dentists, gynecologists...etc.

Medical insurance: in order to benefit from the student regime of the Social Security, it is necessary to fulfill two conditions: to be less than 28 years old, and to be enrolled in an establishment of superior education that is admitted by the Social Security.

Where to register: for the students, the affiliation to the Social Security takes place at the same time that the matriculation in the educative establishment (university, Grand Ecole, etc). This diligence is executed in one "mutuelle étudiante".
